One of the biggest blessings in my life has to be my exposure to all the beautiful and wonderful things nature has to offer. From beautiful flowers aiding in scent to the food we eat, the colours we see and even the medicinal properties that can be obtained from certain specimens, including crystals. Crystals have over the centuries been used by different individuals from different walks of life for decorative and healing properties. In modern times, they are even used in skincare routines, including in the inclusions of crystals in products and using them as structured tools. These provide many different benefits and also aid in some element of fun in your skincare routine, so let’s jump right in!

Everything in the universe has a vibration, including humans, the earth, and crystals. The vibrations emitted by crystals are what aids in the skincare regime. For example, Amethyst is seen as a healing stone, so adding some shards from this may aid in healing the skin, along with the other ingredients incorporated in your mask or serum. The best part is that even if you are skeptical about crystals self, skincare products that do have these infusions tend to be ultra-natural and make use of sustainable ingredients, resulting in a clean product. Different infusions could lead to different results and is a great and healthy way of doing energy transfers. For example, malachite is believed to aid in combating UV damage through raising the level of glutathione (which is a major anti-oxidant), while rose quartz softens fine lines and calms redness. Here is a quick guide to crystal infusions for skincare:

- Detox: Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald

- Radiance: White Tourmaline, Moonstone

- Acne: Amethyst, Moonstone, Ruby

- Calming the skin: Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Emerald, Black Tourmaline

- Deep Cleanse: Malachite, Emerald, Rose Quartz

- Anti-aging: Rose Quartz, Diamond, White Tourmaline

So along with both energizing your skin and yourself, you still get benefits from the different crystal types. Their high vibration format also further aids in driving essential ingredients such as ceramides and peptides to weaker cells, which in turn are the ones that need it the most. Other tools are also created from crystals to help in bettering your skin that does not involve the infusions of crystals on the skin but helps penetrating products, while also acting as a natural ‘skin fix’ tool. The most popular ones include the Jade Roller, the Gua Sha, and the Jade eye mushroom. Please note that “Jade” is just a common term due to the origin being from a Jade stone, but they come in different crystal types, for example, all mine are rose quartz. The usage and benefits of these three peculiar beauty tools are as follows:

- Jade Roller: This is probably the most popular crystal orientated skincare tool and also worth the hype. Not only does it feel wonderful using and has an added massage feature to the face, but the actual use is also recognizable. First and foremost it aids so nicely in having products penetrated deeply into the skin, especially over sheet masks or when applying serums. Secondly, the gentle massage also helps to stimulate circulation which in turn can leave facial muscles relaxed and promoting a gentle lifting and toning effect. Finally, it encourages lymphatic drainage which is great for boosting the skin’s natural detoxification process. Different stones again also provide different properties in terms of energy release as mentioned above.

- Gua Sha: This is another facial massage tool that aids in relieving tension and helps in blood circulation. This tool also further helps with inflammation and is more often used on different areas of the body, as compared to only the face. The tool has different shapes for different body sizing and can be used with more force or very gently, depending on the need. I love using this on my mother as well in upward strokes on her forehead for a slight lift in her forehead's fine lines.

- Jade Eye Mushroom: This tool is used for the eye area and helps to reduce puffiness, combat eye bags, and further helps in the absorption of eye products applied. This tool is slightly smaller than the other two and is used in circular motions around the eye are. It works great while wearing eye patches as well!

Crystals are a wonderful tool gifted to us by nature, it also presents itself in many different religions, including Christianity. I know a lot of people don’t believe in them. It’s not always about belief. Everyone does not believe in the healing properties of flowers, yet are quick to use something that may, for example, be rose petal infused. So why not gift your body and skin with a different kind of treat from nature: crystals. Vibrate high and away from any toxins and toxic influences, you may just inspire the next person to do the same.

Keep going, keep glowing & keep growing. You’re doing amazing.
